  We had a really nice dinner here! My brother in law got married and we had a reservation for a private room and it was such a nice experience. May and Josue were exceptional and I enjoyed talking to May throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. Highly recommend coming here!

  Don Angie has officially become my favorite restaurant in New York. Tucked into the West Village, it has that perfect city buzz where the room feels alive but still intimate, with warm lighting and an energy that makes dinner feel like an event. We came as a party of eight for an 8 pm reservation and the way they handled it set the tone for the night. We waited maybe ten minutes, and the front of house actually came outside to find us and walk us in. They sat us at a beautiful table that made it easy to share everything and still talk comfortably, which I really appreciated. We ordered like we meant it and there was not a single true miss. We shared the stuffed garlic flatbread, chrysanthemum salad, gnocchi, charred broccoli, cauliflower (delectable), an off menu pesto pasta, the spiced fish pasta, and my ultimate favorite, the sourdough pasta cacciatore. The flatbread is buttery and flaky and disappears in seconds. The chrysanthemum salad is their clever twist on a Caesar, crisp and full of flavor instead of being a throwaway green. The gnocchi is silky and satisfying, the vegetables are deeply charred and seasoned so well they stand on their own, and the sourdough pasta cacciatore is the dish I cannot stop thinking about, rich, smoky, and comforting in all the right ways. The spiced fish pasta and pesto pasta rounded everything out and made the table feel like one big, very happy tasting. The cocktail program holds its own right alongside the food. We ordered The Last Word with Plymouth gin and it was beautifully balanced, bright, and complex, the kind of drink you want to sip slowly between bites of pasta and vegetables. It felt crafted to match the food rather than compete with it, which is rare. We finished the night with the mochi and the tiramisu, both of which were to die for, and a cantaloupe sorbet that was good but not as memorable as the other two. Service from Micah was warm, attentive, and truly exceptional. She took such good care of our big group without making us feel rushed for even a second, and her pacing and recommendations really shaped the night. There is a certain level of care and intention you can feel here, from the host who comes outside to get you to the last bite of dessert. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation, go with friends, order a spread of pastas and vegetables, get The Last Word, and settle into one of the most special dinners in the city.

  The famous Don Angie in the west village: My cousins held my kids graduation party here. We literally ordered everything as the pictures in my review indicates including cocktails and alcohol. Just as a preamble, I grew up in Brooklyn and have lots of experience with Italian food on all levels. Overall summary: All of the flavors including their famous salad and lasagna for 2 is decent, but nothing fantastic; but I think the portions are small for the price. But if you're prepared to pay $$$ to $$$$ for decent Italian, i m sure you will enjoy it. If you look at the picture for the Lasagna for 2 that is cut vertically and served on its side at 6 pieces surrounded by ricotta, at the price of $68, which is on the level of a mid range Rib Eye at a steakhouse, that dish would not serve 1/2 of any Tony from Brooklyn let alone serve that for 2 ppl. So decent flavors, small on portions for high end pricing, but in the west village, that is on par, but 3 stars for me.

  Somehow managed to get a reservation for a party of 8 literally hours before arriving for my birthday dinner?! Birthday stroke of luck aside, Don Angie has to be the best restaurant I’ve been to in the city so far. Our server was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. The BBQ Calamari was a group favorite. The garlic flatbread disappeared in seconds. The tiramisu was a rich chocolatey delight and the sorbet was wonderful as well. I will definitely be returning.

  Fantastic experience at Don Angie's for a group (6) brunch. Service was on point, nice and lively environment without being crazy, and great food. Highlights were the Chrysanthemum Salad, Pineapple & Coppa, Buffalo Milk Caramelle, and Sourdough Pasta Cacciatore. Funny enough, I thought their famous lasagna was the least impressive dish of the bunch (still good, just not wow like the rest). Highly recommend!
