  We had an incredible experience hosting my sister’s bachelorette brunch at Rule of Thirds. With 16 of us, we were offered one of the private dining rooms, which made the event feel so special and intimate while still being part of the restaurant’s lively, bustling energy. I really appreciated the option to do a prix fixe meal and customize as needed. Abby and Eden were so responsive, warm, and enthusiastic throughout the planning process, and I was especially grateful for how quickly they replied and answered all of my questions. And now, the food.....!!! The food was mind-blowing. With such a large group, we were able to try so many dishes, and there were so many standouts: the smashed potato starter, hot honey gem salad, almond miso soup, mushroom curry, chicken sando, obviously the hottokeki, and the white sesame ice cream, which honestly should be sold by the pint. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in years. 10/10 would go back tomorrow, and would absolutely recommend Rule of Thirds for any special event.

  Held our wedding rehearsal dinner here in one of their private dining rooms. The menu had many standout dishes, including the sesame ice cream (dairy-free!) with complimentary strawberry sake, wagyu sukiyaki, and meatball and mushroom skewers. Drinks (both alcoholic and NA) were also great; I really liked my Melonade. However, I'm leaving this review in large part because of their wonderful service--after booking the reservation over a year in advance, we had somehow put down the wrong time in our calendar (and that of our guests) and ended up arriving about an hour after our reservation start time. The staff and event coordinator were extremely gracious and let us stay for as long we needed to finish our meal and then some. In a stressful moment, that was very much appreciated. Last but not least, there were nice touches that came with the experience, like menus with our custom headings and complimentary welcome drinks. We enjoyed this restaurant before this past visit, but now we'll definitely be back.

  I reserved a room for my Bridal Shower for about 20 ppl and it was perfect. The space was beautiful and needed minimal decor. Scheduling and organizing the event was a breeze. The food was amazing and the crew was great. Couldn't have asked for a better space to feel celebrated.

  We hosted my partner's 50th birthday in one of the indoor private rooms. If you're looking into Rule of Thirds for a private event, book it. Each course was absolutely amazing and service was equally as good. Event planning was seamless - Abby and Eden and the entire event planning staff rock! Highly highly recommend. We'll definitely be back soon.

  I dined here for a private event on 9/22, there were 16 guests total. The server (a woman with brown hair) was so incredibly rude to me. I have food allergies, most of which are mild except for my shellfish allergy. After I told her my allergies despite her attempts to walk away as I was talking, she announced to the entire room that I had allergies. This wouldn't have been a big deal if she didn't continue singling me out and telling me false information. She offered to take a group photo at one point and referred to me as "my little allergy" in order to tell me to move. When one of the dishes with imitation crab was served, she informed me it was okay to eat despite my shellfish allergy. I didn't end up eating the dish, but I was telling the other guests how I've seen imitation crab in the *grocery store* that was made with mostly fish and some crab - expressing my surprise at learning it was made from a specific kind of fish. I'm not sure why she felt the need to interrupt me to inform me that no imitation crab has crab in it, which is completely wrong. I tried to clarify that I was talking about imitation crab in a grocery store and that I believed her about the imitation crab the restaurant carried, but she kept insisting that all imitation crab was shellfish free. Not only was this incredibly rude, but it was downright dangerous misinformation. I just wanted to celebrate my friends, instead I had to deal with a super rude server.
