  We had a private party here. The Sirlon I had was perfect and very juicy. However the Salmon tasted a little watery. I think it could have been cooled a little longer. The service was primo. Despite tje Salmon I would eat here again.

  It’s honestly heartbreaking for me to write such a negative review about a restaurant that had been one of my absolute favorites for years. After spending years recommending this place to family and friends, I finally had the chance to bring everyone together for a very special celebration dinner. I made the reservation over a month in advance and clearly mentioned that it was an important occasion. To my surprise, we were seated directly next to the kitchen. Completely unacceptable. The constant noise, the smells, and the chaotic atmosphere ruined the experience from the start. Most upsetting of all, my grandfather, who is currently battling cancer, had to sit at what felt like the worst table in the restaurant. It was embarrassing and deeply disappointing. We spent over 15 minutes politely asking if there was any possibility of being moved, yet the woman at the front repeatedly refused. Thankfully, one kind server eventually helped us and agreed to move us once another table finished dessert. The food itself was good, as it always has been. Unfortunately, the service and overall treatment completely overshadowed it. At the end of the evening, one of the servers approached me, handed me the bill, and said, “This is our gift for you, congratulations on graduating.” For a moment, I genuinely thought it was a small congratulatory card or gesture. Instead, it was simply a $1,200 bill handed to me in a way that felt incredibly disrespectful and mocking. I left feeling humiliated and heartbroken. After more than 10 years of enjoying and supporting this restaurant, it’s devastating that such an important night was completely ruined.

  Last week I had a group of friends visiting from Puerto Rico. I’m Puerto Rican myself, but I split my time between Puerto Rico and New York. I had planned a special lunch for six of us at Le Bernardin, but when we arrived we realized it was closed. To this day we’re not sure if the mistake was ours or the restaurant’s, but suddenly we had to find another place for lunch. Since we were nearby, I suggested Gallagher’s Steakhouse, a place I’ve been to a few times and have always enjoyed. Luckily it was within walking distance, and it ended up being the best “plan B” we could have hoped for. From the moment we walked in, the experience was wonderful. The food was excellent as always. I personally love their lentil soup, which was comforting and flavorful. Some of my friends ordered the clam chowder, which they loved. For the main course, a few of them had the filet mignon, and everything was cooked perfectly. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the service. Our waiter, YB, was absolutely phenomenal. His name is easy to remember, just two letters, but his service was unforgettable. We were a group of six Puerto Rican women, laughing, talking loudly, enjoying ourselves, and he handled everything with incredible patience, professionalism, and kindness. YB was attentive without being intrusive, incredibly polite, and treated us like we were royalty. His manners, calm demeanor, and warm hospitality elevated the entire meal. It’s rare to see service that genuinely stands out like that, but he delivered it effortlessly. The food at Gallagher’s is always good, but what consistently impresses me every time I visit is the level of service, and this time YB made it truly exceptional. If you go to Gallagher’s, you’ll enjoy the food, but if you’re lucky enough to have YB as your server, your experience will be next level. ¡Así sí se come en Nueva York!

  Had a great dining experience here with a group of friends. The menu is varied and the food is very tasty. Mario took excellent care of us and every staff member we interacted with was attentive and pleasant. The vibe really feels like a classic old world New York steakhouse!
