  We celebrated my mother’s 100th birthday with a Sunday brunch in Maialino’s private room. My mother is very hard of hearing and uses a walker, so we needed a quiet, easily accessible venue. Maialino’s private room was perfect. It was quiet (we turned off the music and closed the door), and she was able to enter through the restaurant’s side door, thus avoiding the four steps to the room from the main section of the restaurant. The food, served family style, was delicious and plentiful. Anasua Chowdhury, the private sales manager, worked with me in planning the event and the menu, and two staff members who were at the brunch itself serving and anticipating our every need, were wonderful. I recommend Maialino for your event, or for a simple meal.

  Was recently there for a private party. The restaurant was busy all night long. The food was excellent, the waitstaff were attentive and while they do not have beer on tap, they do have an interesting selection of bottled beer.

  We visited as a group of 6 on a thursday night, and suffered through a pretty unpleasant experience. While food was run of the mill, average quality italian fare, the real downer was the terrible wait. Despite asking our server specifically to send dishes as they come, we had to wait an hour and 30 minutes after finishing our appetizers to get our entrees. A female manager came to our table to apologize, but decided to blame it on a duck we had ordered that supposedly held up everything. Given that they had send another table’s order to ours by mistake, it seems they just screwed up the order but decided not to take the blame. While they added a few side dishes to apologize, we had lost appetite by then, two hours after arriving. Given the number of quality italian restaurants in tye city, their bad service and the fact that gratuity is automatically included which prevents you from voicing your displeasure, i strongly advise against wasting your money, or your time there.

  Great stop for brunch with a group of nine. Accommodated a last minute change in reservation with zero drama. Food was excellent, portion sizes on many of the dishes was large. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall great experience.

  Top 5 meal of all time!!!.. get the duck, best of my life. We had a large group and they were able to seat us early. We had a Cabernet/ sangiovese blend that was amazing too. The carbonara was also the best carbonara I've ever had. We also tried (and liked) the squid ink pasta, tortellini, and lamb meat balls. Lastly, we had lemoncello, which was not my favorite, but that's only bc it's an acquired taste, not a bad product. That all said, I went and thanked the chef, personally, for the fantastic meal. Share with multiple people so you can try everything! By the way, tip is included in the price, FYI.
