  This was a fantastic dining experience. We went for a friend’s birthday, and everything from the moment we walked in felt special. The space is thoughtfully designed and decorated, luxurious, beautiful, and clearly created with intention. Our server, Mel, was amazing. He went above and beyond for us throughout the entire meal, but the real showstopper was when he somehow procured the birthday girl’s favorite ice cream (not on the menu). That kind of effort is truly once in a lifetime service. Ron came over and checked on us multiple times during the evening, offering expert suggestions and, despite the restaurant being incredibly busy, made us feel like we were the only table in the room. His presence elevated the entire night. Everyone we interacted with was exceptional. Shane, the other server in our area, also made a huge impression. He was genuinely happy to be there, full of energy, and he has great charisma and pizazz. An unforgettable night from start to finish. Highly, highly recommend.

  We had an absolutely humiliating and unpleasant experience last night at The Corner Store. My husband and I were visiting from San Francisco and excited to celebrate a family occasion at what we were told was a "hot" NYC spot. Instead, we were treated with arrogance and disregard. We were a group of five: myself, my husband, our two daughters, and our son-in-law. Three of us arrived early and started with drinks. When the rest of the family showed up, they were not allowed to join us — the staff insisted the reservation was only for four, despite our confirmation for five and a follow-up call confirming the headcount. The dinner had already been prepaid through the app. There was clearly enough room at our booth for five — even an extra chair could’ve been added without issue. Still, after 30 minutes of back-and-forth with two different managers, we were coldly told that one person would have to leave. Let that sink in: which family member should be excluded from a family celebration? The question was as insulting as the staff’s tone — dismissive, patronizing, and completely unprofessional. This experience completely ruined what should have been a joyful evening. The food? Underwhelming. Yes, the martinis were nice and the tuna tartare and crudo were decent — but no better than dozens of other places in the city. The “famous” wagyu beef? Gray, unappetizing slices in a basic bun. With all the amazing restaurants in NYC, this place is only notable for the rudeness and inflexibility of its management. Truly disappointing. I would not recommend The Corner Store to anyone.

  5 stars isn't enough for this corner store turned holy grail! I'm talking Oscar-worthy dedication from my girls, who showed up at 4 pm to wait in line for the 5 pm opening. I mean, 10 people were already ahead of them - talk about setting the bar high! I joined the party at 4:30, and let's just say the line grew exponentially. BUT, the coveted booth was ours for the taking (not guaranteed, but we weren't complaining). Cocktails first (because priorities)! We ordered the Martiny's - tomato martini, chamomile vesper martini, and sour cream and onion (yes, you read that right). Later, we added the dirty martini and coconut negroni to the mix. The tomato martini, sour cream and onion, and coconut negroni were the MVPs. Now, onto the food (ordered all at once, because why not?!). In order of love: 1. Wagyu French dip - juicy perfection 2. Caesar salad (get those croutons, folks!) 3. Heirloom tomato basil salad (off-menu, but we're glad they made an exception) 4. Five cheese pizza roll - cheesy heaven 5. Spinach and artichoke dip - yum! 6. French fries with three sauces - flavorful magic Desserts, anyone? Apple pie with vanilla cinnamon ice cream and a sundae with coconut - the sweet tooth on our table gave it two thumbs way up. The staff, particularly Daniel our server/manager, was friendly and attentive. The ambience was wonderful. Worth the wait (almost). Apart from the wait time, the experience was top-notch!

  Made reservation for my bday with Bowery hotel where I’m staying few weeks in advance.. and was given bar seating… food is good or whatever… but bar seating for a birthday reservation nearly a month in advance is diabolical tbh, and extremely disrespectful. a total slap in the face to be honest. Chop.
