  We celebrated our special ceremony night at Torrisi, and since it's opening their service food quality has been consistent - top tier italian food. It's a refreshing atmosphere in New York City - discrete service, carefully selected entrees, beautiful atmosphere! We especially loved working with Sarah Ambrose. Professional and detail oriented - we couldn't have done it without her and her team.

  Ok, this isn't a fair review as I was there for a private event. This means that there isn't regular table service or ordering. All I can say is that based on what I managed to get my hands on to eat is that I will be eating here again. The food that I sampled was delicious and tasty and had a nice color and texture. My taste buds were very happy. The ambiance and setup of the restaurant were very pleasing to my eyes.

  Awful customer service experience. I’ve dined here a few times and called a month ago to make reservations for my birthday. The person on the phone said to check back two weeks before. Now I check back and they said for parties of 6 or more I could have requested resos a month before.

  Not too different from other Italian places in the city in terms of quality –– just a healthy bit pricier. (Admittedly, my group was pretty split on this point: half of us thought it was pretty average, the other half offered glowing endorsements.) The service and atmosphere were outstanding. The waiter was exceedingly friendly, and the ambiance was great. All in, I only went because work was paying, and I probably wouldn't go again on my own dime.

  The food—specifically the tortellini and affogato—absolutely lives up to the hype, and our server was wonderful. However, the hostess nearly ruined the meal for us. Because of subway delays, part of our group arrived 20 minutes late. While I understand it’s a tough reservation to get, the hostess was unnecessarily harsh. After already lecturing me, she went out of her way to pull aside each arriving guest to rudely remind them of our "hard out" time. She even came to the table later to reiterate it again. It cast a shadow over what should have been a lovely $700 lunch. We still managed to finish everything and leave on time, making her animosity feel even more unwarranted. Management should really consider extending their 1 hour and 45-minute seating limit to a full two hours to account for NYC transit; a little hospitality goes a long way. Delicious food, but the front-of-house attitude needs a major adjustment.
