  • birthday party, party of 24
We had a birthday party of 24 people at Sparks last Saturday. We couldn't be any happier with the food, drinks and service provided. I had such pleasant experience working with everyone. The team at Sparks is responsive, professional and going above beyond to ensure my guests all had a good time. I highly recommend this classic steakhouse for any gathering event.
  • client dinner, party of 10
Yet another incredible dinner at Sparks -- the Ambiance, the Food, the Service, and the Wine List are all still the Best. I highly recommend Sparks for anyone looking for a Top-Shelf dining experience. My party of 10 for dinner on May 20 was graciously accommodated by the very professional team at Sparks. Rachid and his Team did a fantastic job on a very busy night and I must say that it was one of the best times I have ever had at Sparks. My clients were very impressed and pleased with the setup in the Rose Room and the food was, as it always is, very tasty and beautifully prepared. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Sal and Sayed who helped make this evening of client entertainment at Sparks a very enjoyable experience for us all. I hope to visit this very fine establishment in the near future.
  • work event, party of 20
I got excited when I found out that a work event will be held at Sparks Steakhouse. Sparks is another understated NYC icon and one of the last remaining steakhouses in midtown Manhattan. Upon entering I was greeted with a huge dining hall, the maître d’ directed patrons in which party or event they were attending to their tables. Our table for a party of 20 was at the back area of the restaurant. Since the event is a pre-fixe dinner, the menu was already ready at the table presented with an elegant table setting. We started the dinner with homemade bread with butter and I selected fresh Bufala mozzarella with tomatoes and mint leaves. Since my eyes caught the filet mignon I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon with it. The steak was the specialty of this place. It was crispy and crusty from the outside and juicy from the inside, the meat melted in my mouth for every bite. We then concluded the dinner with a slice of New York cheesecake served with fresh strawberries. It was also one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had in a while. It was a lovely dinner to be had. This place is perfect for parties, events, or even date nights. This place is highly recommended.
  • business dinners
I have been to this steakhouse 5 times in the last two months for business dinners. My company reserves private rooms and I have brought many clients to this establishment. They have failed to recognize that or acknowledged me. The first three times I reserved a private room to host clients - I was with a male counterpart. The restaurant treated him as VIP, made sure our clients had full glasses, were not stingy with the sides or desserts. A few weeks ago, I came for. a private dinner with two of my female counterparts and our clients - I was appalled by the way we were treated. Our room was not prepared with the correct AV equipment, the server left menus on the table all night and disrupted our speaker many times. When informed myself and a guest needed a gluten free option for dessert - the server acted annoyed and asked if we could 'split one'. I have spent thousands of dollars at this restaurant and was also doing so that evening. When one of the guests let the server know his steak was too salty (not usual, but they did taste like bricks of salt that night), the server just said "ok" instead of offering my guest a replacement. I spent 3k that night, to give you an idea why I was very disturbed by this. I thought it may be a fluke. However, I had another private dinner there this evening (it was already arranged or else I would have changed the venue.) Again, it was under my name and I did not have a male counterpart assigned to the reservation with me. Our pre-fix menu includes non alcoholic drinks for our guests - Our server whom is guaranteed a 20% tip - acts as if he that guarantee does not mean he has to treat guests with respect. I asked him to ask my guests if they would like a drink - when they asked what they may have.. he rudely said "you don't know what soft drinks are?" instead of informing the table what is offered. I had to ask for the proper amount of sides, and ask the server to offer my guests coffee and tea service. The difference in service when reserving as a woman or man is palpable, I understand this is an old school establishment - but I expected any kind of respect or gratitude to be shown to me as I have brought them many private dinners. The difference in treatment is palpable. I am sure this is great for a date. Or family dinner. I cannot recommend for business dinners. I will no longer be using this establishment and will be sure to inform my counterparts of their rudeness as well.
  • private room work event
Yummy, yum, yum. Perfect cooked steak..had a private room for work event. They let us play our own music, the service was excellent, & we didn't feel rushed.
