Truly special. I came here on a Friday night, granted it was Labor Day weekend, but I was able to get a seat at the counter for one with no wait time! One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. And I am perfectly ok to say it was even better than Le Bernadin For Seafood in the area it is absolutely incredible. Service was impeccable. Issa was my server and she made me feel so special dining solo. I can see myself being a regular.

Dang this was a great meal! We’ve eaten all over the world (and had just recently eaten at Atomix while on vacation in NYC; and, while that was good we actually thought the food here was better in flavor and approachability) and all of the items were soooo packed with flavor and surprising. We sat at the bar (which I highly recommend) and Ian was our server. He was great with recommendations and very friendly. Loved the buckwheat pancake, the special amberjack belly, the abalone skewers (cooked to perfection!), the razor clams, and the BBQ mackerel. Definitely too stuffed to have dessert but shared a Seaweed martini and a glass of champagne. Both were perf with the meal. You should check them out! Note, they are down a few stairs with a small neon sign in one window. Easy to pass by if not paying close attention.

More restaurants should be named after Susan Seidelman films, actually. Everything was great. Our standouts were the buckwheat pancake and the bread, although the rice with clams was a surprising big winner as well. Evil Negroni best drink - very unique mix of bitter, sweet, and hot!
