  Good food, everything was delicious. Great idea for business - jazz music with a restaurant - but the service needs to be improved. We booked a place for 7 people but had 9. Some of us came 30 min in advance that would give a place to adjust but in 30 min we faced a scolding speech from the floor manager: it was a BIG deal, we are now obliged to pay 150 per person; our guest was standing for 15 min - we were not allowed to grab a chair (there was plant around)…The waiter was not accommodating much as well: smiling to the make clients and not so sweat to the other people in the group. The main course was not served at the same time. Some people already had their meal already and some did not even start. This is not a New York standard level of service. It is disappointing because the food and the concept were great!

  Headline: amazing vibes, good live music but quiet enough still for conversations, stunning lighting and atmosphere, great food Details: I planned a 6-person birthday dinner here, and it was so much fun. There was live piano at regular intervals and it was popular songs that were played so beautifully. My fear was that with live music we wouldn’t be able to talk, but we were able to talk across the table with not too much strain. Ordered a round of shots to start, we all got different cocktails and we ALL loved ours. It’s surprisingly hard-pressed for me to find a good cocktail in this city. We got a few raw fish dishes that were fun, the burger was maybe the best burger I’ve ever had???? That was unexpected. The duck frites were fun, the sundae dessert and the creme brûlée were also really good. So — what else is there to say? Great food, great drinks, VIBES immaculate like think about really intimate and elegant music and dinner. Come here?

  I went to a work event at The Nines. The wait staff kept circulating with plates of hors d'oeuvre, which I couldn't eat as I am celiac. Without me requesting this, one of the staff came out with a plate made just for me with all gluten free items! It was such a thoughtful thing to do and it totally made my evening!! On top of that, the place is beautiful and the food and drinks are delicious.

  Our group of six arrived and the welcome staff and bartenders were fantastic—they were accommodating and gracious, happily arranging for us to squeeze into a table for five (which we were perfectly comfortable doing). Unfortunately, the manager stepped in and undid everything her team had done to accommodate us. She refused to let us sit, citing that we hadn't provided a credit card on file previously. Despite the table being available and her staff being willing to serve us, she made it impossible for our group to stay. We ultimately had to leave. It is a shame to see such nice service from the staff wasted by rigid, unhelpful management. Distinct lack of hospitality.

  Super disappointing experience at The Nines last night. I’ve celebrated 3 of my birthdays here, plus friends’ and my partner’s birthdays and lots of other occasions. It was always my go-to spot and the place I’d recommend to anyone visiting. Sadly, over the past few months, things seem to have changed. I came in last night to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends, and everything was going well until an interaction with the manager, Sarah. A server brought us another round of drinks without mentioning that we’d need to move soon. Then suddenly Sarah approached us and told us we had to switch to a hallway table. It was disappointing and honestly put a damper on what was meant to be a special night. No heads up, no grace. We absolutely would have moved, but it’s not what you say, it’s HOW you say it. The tone was hostile and completely unnecessary. What really crossed the line was her grabbing a drink out of my friend’s hand mid-sip. That was shocking and honestly unacceptable. Definitely not the “luxury cocktail bar” experience they present themselves to be. When i tried to calmly give Sarah feedback, she was dismissive and rude. Just an ugly experience overall. It’s sad because this place used to have such a great friendly, vibe, but the hospitality is gone. If you’re thinking of going, there are plenty of spots in the city that will treat you like a guest — not a nuisance. Won’t be back.
