  Avoid This Shady Business at All Costs We booked BRASS for a surprise birthday party on December 20, reserving a private room via email for our group of 11. What followed was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Upon arriving at 6:00 PM, we were seated at a cramped table in the middle of the main hall, directly beside live music. The space was so tight we could barely move, and conversation was nearly impossible over the noise. When we informed staff about our private room reservation, the manager was dismissive and rude, refusing to apologize and insisting this arrangement was “what we booked.” Only after we pushed back were we moved to a private room, one that had clearly been sitting empty and unused the entire time. The bill included vague charges labeled “administration fee,” “convenience fee,” and similar line items that were never disclosed upfront. The lack of transparency was unacceptable. Two days later, the restaurant emailed us alleging we had harassed a staff, a claim we categorically deny. The email provided no specifics: no time, no description of conduct, no names. They claimed to have video and audio footage but shared none of it. Instead, they pushed for a phone call rather than putting facts in writing, and implied the owner might take unspecified “action.” Making a serious allegation without evidence, pressuring us toward an off-the-record conversation, and pairing this with deposit refund logistics is clearly an attempt to deter complaints rather than address a legitimate concern.   We had a party in the plum room and had the most amazing time. Santiago looked after us and did so much to make us comfortable, nothing was a problem for him he just wanted us to have the best time - an incredible host!!

  I would strongly advise anyone considering booking a private event here to be extremely careful and think twice. My experience with the private events team, especially Nicole and John, was extremely disappointing and stressful. The communication, organization, and professionalism were far below what I expected when planning such an important occasion. I was provided with available dates for a private event and selected one of the dates they offered. After confirming the date, I informed my guests. Around 15 of my friends arranged their schedules, time off, and personal plans around this event. The following day, I received an email stating that the restaurant would actually be closed on that date and that the private event could not happen. This created unnecessary stress and inconvenience for everyone involved. Shortly after, I received a call from one of the private event managers, who told me that the Monday date they had arranged for me was still possible and that there was no issue moving forward. However, the communication between the two people responsible for private events was clearly not aligned. While one person was telling me everything was fine, the other continued sending negative and conflicting information. On top of this, Nicole believed she had sent me the detailed event documents and information needed before signing a contract, but she had not actually sent them. Since I did not have the necessary details, I asked reasonable questions before committing to an event where around 15 guests would be attending and spending a significant amount of money. Instead of understanding this, Nicole told me that she was “trying to be patient” with my questions and made my husband and me feel as though we were being difficult. I spent two weeks communicating back and forth with the private events team. During that time, other restaurant options I was considering became unavailable. After all of that time and effort, I was eventually told to find another restaurant. The private events team is extremely disorganized. Even though I always included both Nicole and Can in emails, they did not communicate with each other and repeatedly provided separate information, creating even more confusion. Planning a special event should be exciting, but this experience caused unnecessary stress and disappointment. Due to the lack of organization, communication, and coordination, what should have been a happy occasion became one of the most frustrating experiences. I hope management seriously reviews how the private events department is being handled, because guests planning important celebrations deserve professionalism, transparency, and a team that works together.
